Modern communication includes a variety of options that didn't even exist only decades ago, so the playing field has changed significantly over time. Smart phones, for example, have become common fixtures in everyday communication, serving as one of the primary modes of modern messaging. Emails and texts are now sent from home-based computers, as well as completely portable smart phones and tablets that require no wiring or special connections.
