Vacuum conveying uses a system to tubes and piping to move the items around the warehouse and storage area. These items are usually medical pills or powder. The only way they can be moved successfully is by the use of a vacuum pulling or sucking the items through the tubes.
The system works on a timed basis. As soon as suction is achieved the material is fired down the tubes to a cut off point. A valve shuts off automatically when the right amount of material has passed through. These valves are also used to divert the flow of the material to where it needs to be servicing.
There are generally 2 ways to move the product. The Dilute phase uses an airstream that carries the product. It can be used for powders, flour and sugars
The other is the Dense Phase. This fires small pockets of product. It is slower but just as effective.
