Looking After an Oil Tank

Looking After an Oil Tank

Living rurally is great – less traffic, noise and pollution, as well as being in the countryside are some of the reasons why rural life is so appealing to many. But there are differences in the way of life rurally, as there are not as many services as there are in the towns and cities.

Something that many people who live rurally will be familiar with is the oil tank. Because many rural properties are not connected to a mains gas supply, the heating for the home is actually done by filling up an oil tank every so often which then powers the home in the same way that gas central heating does, it is just that you have to remember to ring up and get your oil delivered when you are running low!

Oil tanks are also something that need to be maintained, as every so often they will need to be replaced. This is a specialist job and must be done by someone who is qualified in tank decommissioning like this www.ashremediation.co.uk/tank-decommissioning-cleaning-removal/

Before the tank is removed, you should use up as much of the oil from the old tank as you can as this makes the job much easier, and you also get to use the oil that you have paid for! Like a gas boiler, an oil tank should be inspected annually to ensure that it is in good working order and does not have any damage to it.
